Freedom to Print with new TOSHIBA TEC Z-Mode

BRUSSELS/KREFELD, September 2009 – TOSHIBA TEC have launched Z-Mode which frees ZPL II® users to choose robust, safe B-SX4/5 and B-SA4 RFID-ready label printers in all their operating environments. Z-Mode hands ZPL II® users all the advantages of Toshiba at no extra cost.

With Toshiba Auto ID printers running Z-Mode, customers gain three essential capabilities: maximum security when accessing valuable legacy host data, an array of features for enhancing user productivity, and the ability to seamlessly integrate with new and evolving technologies, such as new RFID and barcode standards.

Advantages of Toshiba RFID-ready label printers with Z-Mode

  • Z-Mode helps interpret ZPL II ® datastreams without any host programming changes. And at no cost.
  • Save up to 75 percent of ribbon cost thanks to the proven technologies incorporated into Toshiba future-proof label printers.
  • With a print head warranty of up to 100 km, TOSHIBA TEC printers stand out for their durability, longevity and reduction in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • As one of Europe’s largest suppliers of consumables, RFID tags and inlays, TOSHIBA TEC is able to offer superior print solutions for outstanding print results at affordable prices.

“There is a strong resonance in the business that Toshiba RFID-ready label printers are a must-have because they are easy to operate, have probably the best longevity record in the Auto ID market and hence help keep operational ICT budgets down,” Angel de Juan said. “With Z-Mode we go one step further and give all the advantages of our cost-saving RFID-ready label printers to ZPL II® users.”

Z-Mode is currently built into TOSHIBA TEC B-SX4, B-SX5 and B-SA4 Auto ID printers and will be made available to the RFID-ready B-SX6 and -8 label printer series soon.
